Business Overview
Absolute Financial Group (Absolute) is a national Independent Financial Planning consolidator, backed by Inflexion Private Equity and Tatton Asset Management plc. Our mission is to build one of the UK’s leading Independent Financial Planning businesses by uniting high-quality advisory firms within a well-resourced structure focused on planner support, holistic financial planning, strong client outcomes and long-term client value. Absolute operates across the UK with 16 offices and is trusted by clients with £2.7 billion of assets under advice, with a strong pipeline of future acquisitions.
As Absolute enters a rapid growth phase, we are building our in-house marketing function. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage Private Equity-backed business, work directly with an experienced senior leadership team and grow with the team as it expands.
Role Purpose
The Senior Marketing Executive will turn Absolute’s marketing plans into action. You’ll work alongside the senior leadership team and our external marketing agency: building our databases, running events, testing new tools and reporting on what works.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced doer. We’re looking for someone hungry, organised and confident with technology and AI, who uses their initiative and is happy to get stuck in across a wide range of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination. Act as the day-to-day link between Absolute, our marketing agency and other third parties, keeping projects and workstreams moving.
- Databases and CRM. Build and manage two prospect databases: one for firm acquisitions (M&A) and one for end clients. Keep the data clean, segmented and ready to use.
- Tools and technology. Research, test and implement new tools, including AI and automation, that improve Absolute’s CRM, marketing and lead generation. Report back on what works and roll out what does.
- Events. Take the lead on events, from internal planner roadshows at venues across the country to client events such as golf days and seminars. Own the planning, logistics and collateral, working with our office administrators on bookings.
- Document and design updates. Make quick changes to branded documents and collateral, such as updating FCA wording or adding qualifications to a profile.
- Digital and content. Support the website, social media, SEO and PR activity, coordinating with the agency and making sure content goes through Compliance sign-off.
- Brand integration. Support the integration of newly acquired firms’ branding and communications into the Absolute brand.
- Internal communications. Work with the senior leadership team on internal communications, employee engagement and corporate messaging.
- Performance reporting. Track and report on marketing and event performance to the leadership team, using data to shape future activity and budget allocation.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ marketing experience, ideally within financial services, professional services or a regulated environment.
- A track record of hands-on marketing delivery, from set-up to reporting.
- Experience managing brand identity across multiple stakeholders or business units.
- Confident using marketing analytics and reporting tools to measure ROI.
- Experience building and managing databases or a CRM (for example, HubSpot or similar).
- Confident with digital marketing channels: email, social media and SEO basics.
- Good with technology and keen to use AI and automation to work smarter.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Desirable
- Events experience, from internal planner roadshows to client events.
- Experience of marketing within a Private Equity-backed or acquisitive business.
- Awareness of FCA financial promotions rules (COBS 4).
- Experience working with external agencies and suppliers.
Personal Attributes
- A doer: practical, hands-on and happy to roll up your sleeves.
- Uses their initiative and works well without constant direction.
- Highly organised, able to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
- Curious about new tools; tests ideas, learns quickly and moves on from what doesn’t work.
- Collaborative, building strong relationships with planners, leadership and our agency partners.
- Commercially minded, with a pragmatic approach.
- Proactive and adaptable, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling business.
- Ambitious and keen to grow with an expanding team.
