Business Overview
Absolute Financial Group (Absolute) is a newly established national IFA consolidator, backed by Inflexion Private Equity and Tatton Asset Management plc, building one of the UK’s leading Independent Financial Planning businesses. The firm has £2.4bn of assets under advice and is now scaling its Compliance team, offering a rare opportunity to help shape a Private Equity-backed business from an early stage.
Role Purpose
The T&C Supervisor will support the Training & Competence Manager in maintaining the firm’s T&C framework across the South of England, ensuring advisers meet FCA requirements, the firm’s T&C Scheme, and Consumer Duty obligations. The role is hands-on — covering supervision, competence assessments, file reviews, coaching, and monitoring — and calls for someone who can balance robust oversight with a practical, coaching-led approach, comfortable challenging advisers while building strong working relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the T&C Manager in implementing and maintaining the T&C Scheme across the South of England, and supervise advisers to ensure they remain competent, qualified, and fit and proper.
- Conduct supervision meetings, competence assessments, and performance reviews; identify emerging risks, competency gaps, and training needs; escalate significant concerns as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate T&C records, supervision logs, and development plans.
- Undertake adviser file reviews, assessing advice quality and regulatory adherence; provide coaching and feedback, and support enhanced supervision or remediation where needed.
- Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate coaching and development activity; keep advisers updated on regulatory developments and promote continuous professional development.
- Monitor FCA and regulatory developments relevant to advisers; support alignment of the T&C framework with FCA requirements, contribute to Consumer Duty oversight, and escalate potential breaches or competence weaknesses.
- Prepare MI and reporting on adviser performance, competency, and risk trends for the T&C Manager, and support governance and compliance reporting.

Essential
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant compliance experience in a Training & Competence or Quality Assurance role.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships across the business.
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent).
