We’re looking for an experienced, values-led Operations Manager who can bring clarity, focus and momentum to a growing financial planning business.
This is a genuine second-in-command opportunity, working closely with the Managing Director to translate strategy into action and help shape the future direction of the business.
Reporting to the Director, you’ll provide operational leadership across the firm and act as the bridge between strategic vision and day-to-day delivery. You’ll help prioritise ideas, translate the Business Plan into achievable actions and ensure our people, projects, systems and processes remain aligned.
This is a broad and influential role spanning team leadership, operational improvement, projects, finance, compliance, technology and B Corp responsibilities. You’ll be joining a collaborative, purpose-led business where sustainability, curiosity, transparency and positive impact shape how we work.
Your Role as Operations Manager
You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring smooth, efficient, and aligned business operations. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management, giving you scope to enhance systems, empower people, and shape sustainable growth.
What you might be working on
- Translating strategic ideas into clear priorities and delivery plans
- Chairing management and team meetings and keeping actions moving
- Coaching team members and reviewing workloads, development and performance
- Improving processes, service standards and operational reporting
- Leading a change, technology or automation project
- Reviewing financial, compliance, risk and operational information
- Coordinating B Corp impact data and sustainability activity
- Managing key suppliers and external professional relationships
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Support: Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing culture
- Process Optimisation: Review and improve processes, systems and ways of working to enhance efficiency, consistency and the client experience
- Strategic Planning: Translate goals into actionable, measurable plans
- Projects and change: Lead cross-business projects from planning through to implementation, helping people understand and adopt change while capturing lessons that improve future delivery.
- People Management: Lead, suppor and develop the team, creating the clarity, accountability and environment people need to perform at their best.
- Client Experience: Help enhance the quality and consistency of our service
- Technology & Efficiency: Identify and responsibly implement opportunities involving AI, automations, and emerging technology. Build digital confidence across the team while maintaining appropriate data protection, cyber security and human oversight.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee budgets, forecasts, cash flow and management information, helping the MD maintain financial visibility and make informed decisions.
- Risk & Compliance: Oversee day-to-day compliance activity and maintain effective operational controls, working with Director and external specialists to ensure FCA, ICO, and other regulatory responsibilities are met.
- Marketing Campaign Support: Coordinate resources and logistics for marketing campaigns.

Bonus:
- Experience within financial planning or regulated financial services
- Financial management or compliance experience
- Advanced Excel, Power Automate or Power BI knowledge
- A relevant financial planning, business, HR, project management or process improvement qualification

What We Offer:
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 dependent upon knowledge and experience.
